What the official publisher reports
The U.S. Department of Education's Ed Data Express reports a Texas statewide chronic absenteeism rate of 23.0% for the 2022-23 school year. This is EDFacts FS195/DG814PCT data. The publisher defines chronic absenteeism as students absent 10% or more school days during the school year.
This verified statewide figure does not validate the withdrawn district calculations.
